GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – NEAC All-Conference selections for men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball were released on Friday, and once again the SUNYIT Wildcats were well-represented.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men’s Soccer Team has secured the 4th seed in the upcoming NEAC Championship Tournament with their 3-1 defeat of Keuka on Saturday, which means the Wildcats will host the first round game against Penn St.-Harrisburg. Harrisburg and SUNYIT both finished the season with 6-3-1 records in conference, but the Wildcats’ 2-0 victory over the Nittany Lions earlier in the season gave them the tiebreaker.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men’s Soccer Team (9-7-2, 6-3-1 NEAC) fell to Penn St.-Harrisburg (10-7-2, 6-3-1 NEAC) Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the NEAC Championship Tournament. With the score tied at 0-0 after two overtimes, the Nittany Lions upended the Wildcats at their home field in a penalty-kick shootout, 4-2.
GANSEVOORT, N.Y. - Matthew Wilday (Broadalbin, N.Y.) has been selected as the NEAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for his clutch play for the SUNY Institute of Technology Wildcats. The sophomore defender came up huge during the team’s match against Keuka College Saturday that had playoff seeding ramifications on the line for the upcoming NEAC Men’s Soccer Championship tournament, as he scored a goal and assisted on another while leading a defense that held the Storm to just one score in the 3-1 victory. The win helped the defending champion Wildcats clinch a playoff spot in the tournament.

With the win the Wildcats solidified their hold on fourth place in the conference, as they have the tiebreaker over Penn St.-Harrisburg after defeating the Nittany Lions last month 2-0.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men’s Soccer team tied with Cazenovia in their Brest Cancer Awareness game on Saturday night under the lights. The game went into double overtime and was nothing short of thrilling as both defenses put on a show.
GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – SUNYIT star goalie and 2011 NEAC Player of the Year Malick Faye (Bronx, N.Y. / MLK) added to his awards collection on Monday, garnering a NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week selection for leading the Wildcats to a 2-1 week.
LANCASTER, PA – SUNYIT outlasted their hosts on Saturday, besting the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College by a score of 2-1. With the win the Wildcats improved to 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the NEAC, while the Chargers fell to 2-10-2 overall and remain winless in conference, 0-6-2.
MARCY, N.Y. – SUNYIT out shot Wells College 22 to 5 on Saturday, but the Express made the most of their chances in defeating the Wildcats 1-0. Express sophomore Trevor Fahey scored the winning goal in the 75th minute, as Wells improved to 4-3-0 in conference.

READING, PA – The SUNYIT Wildcats finished 1-1 on their weekend trip to the brothers’ Penn-State (Abington and Berks). SUNYIT dropped Saturday’s match against P.S.-Abington 3-1, but rebounded on Sunday to shut out P.S.-Berks 4-0 behind a whopping four goals from SUNYIT junior Josh Kimber (Chittenango, N.Y. / Chittenango).
MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNYIT Men's Soccer Team (3-2-0) won an incomparably exciting game Wednesday night, 2-1 over the visiting Clarkson Golden Knights. The Wildcats wallowed behind a one-goal deficit for the first 85 minutes of the game, and appeared all but resigned to a disappointing loss in front of a packed home crowd. With just 4:49 seconds remaining in the contest, first-year player Anthony Surber (Miller Place, N.Y. / Half Hollow Hills) brought the crowd to its feet with an incredible pass from just a few paces inside the mid-line. Surber placed the long pass perfectly on the head of a streaking Josh Kimber (Chittenango, N.Y. / Chittenango), who headed it home to tie the game 1-1.
NORTH ADAMS, MASS. – The SUNYIT Men’s Soccer Team (2-1-0) won their first round game of the CIAO Classic at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) on Saturday by a score of 2-1.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Wildcats (1-1-0) fell to crosstown rival Utica (2-0-0) by a score of 2-0 Saturday night in front of a packed crowd at Wildcat Stadium. The Wildcats battled to keep the match close, but were ultimately blanketed by a Pioneer defense that allowed just two SUNYIT shots on goal.
MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men’s Soccer Team (1-0-0) rebounded after a slow first-half start to win their home opener Friday night, 3-1 over the visiting Sage Gators (0-1-0). The win avenged SUNYIT’s season-opening loss of a year ago at Sage. The Wildcats came alive for three goals in the second half, and out shot the Sage men 11 to 4.
