Gators down Wildcats 3-0 in Season Opener
UTICA, NY – The SUNYIT men's soccer team lost in the 2011 season opener against the Sage College Gators, 3-0.
The Gators' freshman midfielder Gustavo Trinidad (Mamaroneck, NY/Mamaroneck) had two first half goals with sophomore Kris Kallenbach (Bristol, CT/Bristol Central) knocking in the third and final goal of the game at 49:28. Freshman goal-keep Trevor Paddy (Brooklyn, NY/Jamaica) recorded eight saves, marking the first collegiate shutout of his career.
Sophomore goalie, Malick Faye (Bronx, NY/MVCC) took the loss with seven saves.
SUNYIT takes the field September 6th when they travel to Potsdam, NY to take on Clarkson University. Game time is set for a 6 p.m. start.
