MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team improved to 2-2 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play on Wednesday with an 18-14 win over the Medaille Mavericks. The Wildcats jumped out to a big early lead of 15 goals at its peak. A big fourth quarter surge by Medaille would get them back into the game, but it was not enough to overcome the large deficit.

The game was filled with season highs for the Wildcats. The team's 18 goals and 13 assists were a season high. The Wildcats also had a season high 32 groundballs.

Edward Rosaschi (Highland Mills, N.Y.) had a heck of a game for the Wildcats. The freshman had his best game of the season, facilitating the large offensive output of the Wildcats by setting a new SUNY Poly single game record with seven assists. Rosaschi also had a goal and four groundballs in the game.

Connor Elsenbeck (Clinton, N.Y.) had a team high four goals, three groundballs, and two caused turnovers. Chase LaCava (Syracuse, N.Y.) had four points on two goals and two assists. He also had two caused turnovers and two groundballs in the game.

Daniel Rivie (Ossining, N.Y.) had three points in the game on two goals and an assist. Joey Beyer (Long Beach, N.Y.), Tyler Heldt (Cicero, N.Y.), Noah Garrett (New Hartford, N.Y.), and Nicholas Perrigo (Ogdensburg, N.Y.) each had two goals in the game. Justin Melnitsky (Plainview, N.Y.) had a team high five groundballs in the game.

Christopher Evanchuk (Schnectady, N.Y.) got the win in goal for the Wildcats. He made three saves and allowed one goal in 30 minutes of play.

For Medaille, Tyler Fales and David Groves each had a game high five goals. Fales had a caused turnover and five groundballs. Groves had three caused turnovers and a groundball. Connor Meier had a game high 10 groundballs and three caused turnovers. Jake Rush went 14-20 in the faceoff circle. Seth Greg was tagged with the loss in goal, allowing 17 goals and making eight saves.

The Wildcats are now 2-2 in NEAC play and are 3-8 overall. The Wildcats will be back in action this weekend when they travel to take on Morrisville in a NEAC game. The game is scheduled for a 12:00 PM start.
