MLAX: Wildcats Defeated in Second NEAC Game of the Season 17-5.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's lacrosse team hosted Hilbert on Wednesday night in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game. The Wildcats got down early in the game thanks to an offensive onslaught by the Hawks. The final score of the game was 17-5.

The Hawks opened the game on a hot streak, scoring the seven of the games first eight goals in the first quarter.  The rest of the game was more of the same, with SUNY Poly unable to get a scoring run together. The Wildcats scored just a single goal in the first, second, and third quarter, and had two goals in the fourth.

Daniel Rivie (Ossining, N.Y.) had a team high two goals for the Wildcats on five shots. Rivie also had three groundballs and two caused turnovers in the game. Rivie is currently leading the Wildcat's with 18 goals on the year.

Joey Beyer (Long Beach, N.Y.), Tyler Heldt (Cicero, N.Y.), and Edward Rosaschi (Highland Mills, N.Y.) each had a goal in the game.

Ryan Daucher (Geneva, N.Y.) had a team high five caused turnovers and a team high five groundballs in his first game back with the Wildcats after suffering an injury earlier this season.

Christopher Evanchuk (Schnectady, N.Y.) made 12 saves in the game, but earned the loss in goal for the Wildcats.

For Hilbert, Tyler Nicoloff had a game high eight points on four goals and four assists. Grant Stockman had a game high six caused turnovers. Justin DeLarosa had a game high 9 groundballs and went 12-17 in the faceoff circle. Adam Zawadzki earned the win in goal for the Hawks. He made seven saves in 45 minutes of play.

The Wildcats are now 1-8 on the year and are 0-2 in conference play. The team will be back on the field on Saturday when they travel to Cobleskill for a NEAC game. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
