Wildcats Fall 10-4 to Lions

MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Men's Lacrosse Team (4-7, 2-4 NEAC) dropped Sunday afternoon's conference matchup at home, falling to Bryn Athyn (8-4, 4-3 NEAC) by a score of 10-4.

Bryn Athyn led 3-0 after the first quarter; the Wildcats got on the board to start the second quarter. Neil Nembhard (Commack, N.Y. / Commack) finished a Nicholas Levanti (Clayville, N.Y. / New Hartford) feed to cut the visitor's lead to 3-1. The Lions closed out the half with two goals to hold 5-1 advantage at halftime.

Both teams scored two goals in the third quarter to make the score 7-3. Bryn Athyn added two more in the fourth before Andrew Wurz (Utica, N.Y. / Notre Dame) scored SUNY Poly's lone goal in the final stanza with 3:02 to play.

Andrew Coyle led the way for the Lions with four goals as well as five ground balls.

Nembhard and Shane Joswick (New York Mills, N.Y. / MVCC) both finished with two points. Nembhard's came on goals while Josiwick finished with a goal and assist.

Jagger Ashley (Stormville, N.Y. / Carmel) had another strong day on the faceoff going 10-17, picking up six ground balls.

RJ Ferrucci (Rome, N.Y. / Rome Free Acad.) got the decision in goal with five saves.

The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday night as they take on Cazenovia for Senior Day.
