Men’s Lacrosse Picks Up Third Straight Win at Cobleskill

COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Men's Lacrosse Team (4-6, 2-3 NEAC) picked up a convincing win at Cobleskill (3-8, 1-4 NEAC) on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats recorded five fourth-quarter goals to solidify a 13-5 victory.

Nicholas Levanti (Clayville, N.Y. / New Hartford) led the way for SUNY Poly with a game-high five points on four goals and an assist.

The Wildcats didn't get on the board until there was 6:23 left in the first quarter when Shane Joswick (New York Mills, N.Y. / MVCC) broke through unassisted. SUNY Poly proceeded to score five of the next six goals to hold a 6-2 lead at the break.

Levanti was the first to score after halftime just 12 seconds into the quarter. Cobleskill went on to score the next three to cut the lead to 7-5. That was the closest the home team would get, as they wouldn't score again for the remainder of the game.

Neil Nembhard (Commack, N.Y. / Commack) matched Levanti with four goals and added six ground balls. Joswick added three goals while Andrew Wurz (Utica, N.Y. / Notre Dame) and Andre Shattell (Syracuse, N.Y. / Henniger High School) each recorded a goal to round out the scoring for SUNY Poly.

Wurz and Jagger Ashley (Stormville, N.Y. / Carmel) had a dominant day on the faceoff going 3-4 and 12-16, respectively.

RJ Ferrucci (Rome, N.Y. / Rome Free Acad.) recorded the win in goal with nine saves.

The Wildcats return to action on Sunday in a home matchup against Bryn Athyn.
