Men’s Lacrosse Handed Loss on Road

ALFRED, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly Men's Lacrosse Team (1-2) lost at Alfred (6-0) on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats were unable to give Alfred their first loss of the season as the Saxons won 18-2.

The Wildcats let up an early goal 44 seconds in, but were able to hold on defensively to end the quarter down 3-0. The Saxons then used eight, second quarter goals to propel them to an 11-0 lead at the half.

Neil Nembhard (Commack, N.Y. / Commack) got SUNY Poly on the board in the third quarter to make the score 14-1. Andre Shattell (Syracuse, N.Y. / Henniger High School) scored the only other goal for the Wildcats which came in the fourth quarter during a man-up situation.

Shane Joswick (New York Mills, N.Y. / MVCC) scooped up a team-high 7 ground balls while Nembhard and Shattell both added 3 a piece. RJ Ferrucci (Rome, N.Y. / Rome Free Acad.) would get the decision in goal, recording 10 saves.

Nicolas Wood led all scorers with 6 goals on the day. 

The Wildcats return to action Friday at 7:00 in a home game against Maritime.
