Wildcats fall to Undefeated Keuka (Tuesday)

KEUKA PARK, N.Y.-  The SUNYIT Men's Lacrosse (2-11, 1-5) team was unable to pull off an upset Tuesday as they fell to undefeated Keuka College (11-0, 7-0) by the score of 19-4.

The Wildcats were unable to establish any offensive momentum as the Keuka defense held the SUNYIT attack in check. The Storm forced the Wildcats into 17 turnovers, while allowing them just 24 shots.

Keuka used its relentless attack to rush out to an 11-2 halftime lead before 8 second half goals propelled them on to a 19-4 victory. The Storm scored 19 goals on 54 shots as they stayed unbeaten.

Four different Wildcats tallied goals in the game led by Nicholas Levanti (Clayville, N.Y. / New Hartford Sr High) who had a goal and two assists. Keuka also used a balanced attack with James Voigt leading the way scoring 4 goals and adding 2 assists.

The Wildcats are back in action Saturday as they host the Wells College Express in their final home game at 1:00 pm. Prior to the game the team will be celebrating its seven seniors with a brief ceremony.
