Men’s Lacrosse Falls to Hilbert in NEAC Action

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. – The SUNYIT Men's Lacrosse Team (0-6, 0-1 NEAC) fell to the Hilbert Hawks (1-2, 1-0 NEAC) on Saturday in tough conditions, 14-10.

SUNYIT was led by Jon Eguren (Vittoria, Spain / Cicero-North Syracuse) with 3 goals, while Tyler Serva (Chenango Forks, N.Y. / Chenango Forks) and Brett Gifford (Cazenovia, N.Y. / Cazenovia) added 2 apiece.

The Wildcats were tied 5-5 at the half, and scored the first two goals of the second half to take a 7-5 lead. But the Hawks responded with three straight to take the lead. Tyler Nicoloff scored two goals during the stretch and assisted on the other, and finished with a game-high 4 scores on the day.

The Hawks would keep the lead the rest of the way, scoring 6 in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.

The Wildcats out shot the Hawks 48 to 37 but the Hawk keeper Brenden Deady made 19 saves on the day.

SUNYIT will be back at home to host the Mustangs of Morrisville State at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, April 2nd.
