The two teams played a tight game in the first half with SUNY Poly holding a one-point lead at the halftime break. The Wildcats would pull ahead in the second half, thanks in large part to better defensive play to earn the 87-72 win.

The Wildcat defense was porous in the first half, allowing 43 points to the lowest scoring offense in the NEAC (66.2 points per game). The Wildcats would buckle down in the second half, holding Penn College to just 23 points. Penn College shot 51.4 percent in the first half and 37.9 percent in the second half.
