MBB: Wildcats Narrowly Defeated by Sage.

ALBANY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men's basketball team (4-3) fell to Sage (4-4) on Saturday in a game that came right down to the wire. The Wildcats were down eight at the half. The Gators expanded their lead to 15 at its peak before the Wildcats made a run. The game came down to a last minute highly contested shot to tie the game that rattled in and out of the rim. 

For the Wildcats, Redell Freeman (Rochester, N.Y.) had a team high 23 points, three steals, three assists, and five rebounds. Frank Reali (Staten Island, N.Y.) had a big second half for the Wildcats. The freshman scored 14 of his 19 total points in the second half including a three pointer with just seconds left on the clock in the second half to bring the game within one point. Kevin Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) had 16 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Sage's Isaiah Scurry led all players with 31 points in the game. Scurry also had six rebounds and three assists. Barceem Dukes nearly had a double-double with 21 points and nine assists.

The Wildcats will host Hobart next week. The game is scheduled for Sunday, December 17th at SUNY Poly's Campus Center Gym. Tip-off is at 2:00 PM.
