MARCY, N.Y. – The SUNY Poly men's basketball team beat Utica College on Tuesday 81-71. The Wildcats won the first half, taking a 36-49 lead into the locker room. The game was tight in the second with the two teams trading blows. A run by the Wildcats in the last six minutes of the game was the difference.

At the six-minute mark, the game was within one point before some sharpshooting by Redell Freeman (Rochester, N.Y.) gave the Cats' some breathing room. Redell Freeman finished with a game high 29 points, a game high eight assists, a game high three steals, and a rebound. His performance culminated in a Player of the Game selection.

Josh Gregory (Whitesboro, N.Y.) played a big part in the win for the Wildcats. Gregory recorded a double-double with 16 points and a game high 18 rebounds. Gregory's aggressive offensive attack got him to the free throw line seven times. He also had a game high three blocks and a steal.
