MBB: Wildcats Improve to 7-2 in the NEAC with an 80-69 Win Over Morrisville.

MARCY, N.Y. - The Wildcat men's basketball defeated Morrisville on Wednesday in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Divisional game 80-69. The Wildcats were in control of the game for 40 minutes, taking the lead in the opening minutes and holding on to it for the duration.

As a team, the Wildcats shot 50 percent from the field and 48 percent from three. The Wildcats also out rebounded the Mustangs (37-34) and out passed the Mustangs (16-9). Morrisville had the edge on turnovers (16-22) and points off turnovers (22-10).

-Terrynce Wilson (Bronx, N.Y.) had a monster night for the Wildcats. The senior had a season high 22 points and shot the lights out going 8-12 from the field and 5-7 from three.  Wilson also had two rebounds and two assists.

-Peyton Griffiths (Milford, N.Y.) had a solid 19-point performance. He shot 50 percent and went 2-3 from three-point land. Griffiths added five rebounds and three assists to his stat line.

-Quayshaun Mitchell (Harlem, N.Y.) and Joseph Ojo (Staten Island, N.Y.) each had a double-digit scoring night. Mitchell scored 13 on 4-10 from the field and Ojo had 11 on 3-4 from the field, 1-1 from behind the arc, and 4-4 from the charity stripe. Mitchell had five rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and a steal in the game. Ojo had five rebounds, three assists, and a steal.

-For Morrisville, Kevin Dennis had a game high 25 points and 13 rebounds for the double-double. Dennis also had four steals and three blocks on the defensive side of the ball.

-Kenny Bonaparte had 12 points, three rebounds, an assist, and two steals for the Mustangs.

The Wildcats are now 10-6 overall and are 7-2 in the NEAC. The Wildcats next contest will take place on Saturday against Penn College at SUNY Poly's Campus Center Gym. The game is scheduled for a 3:00 PM tip-off.
