MBB: Wildcats Earn First NEAC Win 80-67 Over Cobleskill.

Cobleskill, N.Y.- The SUNY Poly men's team traveled to Cobleskill to take on the Fighting Tigers for their first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game of the season. The Wildcats defeated SUNY Cobleskill by a score of 80-67 and are now 2-1.

The Wildcats had a big first half as they scored 48 points and shot 16-26 from the field. SUNY Poly also did an excellent job drawing 12 fouls and shooting 60 percent from the free throw line. Defensively, the team held SUNY Cobleskill to 35 points and 42 percent shooting.

Josh Gregory (Whitesboro, N.Y.) led the Wildcats in scoring with 22 points. In an impressive first half, Gregory went 4-4 from beyond the arc and finished the game shooting 5-7 from three. He went 7-9 shooting in the game and also grabbed eight rebounds.

Kevin Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y.) played a solid all-around game for the Wildcats. He shot 8-10 from the field and made all of his foul shots en route to an 18-point performance.  Williams also finished with seven rebounds.

Malik Johnson (Highland Falls, N.Y.) recorded a double-double with 15 points and a game high 12 rebounds.  Johnson also finished the game with an impressive 7-8 shooting performance.

For the Fighting Tigers, Quincy Miller led the team in scoring with 19 points and also notched 5 assists, 4 steals and 4 rebounds.  Joel Costello had 17 points and grabbed 3 steals, 2 rebounds and a pair of assists. Christian Cooper also had a double digit point performance, scoring 12 points and grabbing a team high five rebounds.

The team will be back in action on Saturday as they host Wells College. Tip-off is set for 3:00 pm.
