MBB: Wildcats Down Nittany Lions 80-60 Thanks to 22 from Mitchell.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team defeated Penn State Abington by 20 points on Saturday. The Wildcats played a good all-around game to take the lead early and never look back. The final score of the game was 80-60.

Quayshaun Mitchell (Harlem, N.Y. / HS of Graphics Communication Arts) led all scorers with 22 points. He shot 50% from behind the arc and shot 64% from the field. 15 of his 22 points came on three pointers. Mitchell was just a rebound shy of the double-double. He totaled nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block.

Terrynce Wilson (Bronx, N.Y. / South Bronx HS) had 17 points for the Wildcats as a spark off the bench. He shot 54% from the field and had three 3-pointers in the game. He also grabbed three rebounds and had an assist, a steal, and a block. Peyton Griffiths (Milford, N.Y. / Milford Central School) also had a solid game for the Wildcats. He scored 17 points on 6-9 from the field. He also had three assists and a rebound.

The Nittany Lions were led by Yusef Savage and Kevin Pacheco. Savage scored a team high 14 points and had six rebounds and a steal. Pacheco scored 11 and had a steal.

With the win, the Wildcats improve their conference record to 8-3. They will look for another NEAC win tomorrow when they host Bryn Athyn at 12:00 pm at SUNY Poly's Campus Center Gym.
