MBB: Wildcats Suffer a Loss to Morrisville State 73-52.

MARCY, N.Y. - The SUNY Poly men's basketball team dropped a NEAC divisional game to Morrisville State last night 73-52. The Wildcats got off to a slow start in the first half, but fought hard to get back in the game to end the first half. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the Mustangs continued their hot hand shooting in the second to outscore the Wildcats 34-22 to end up with the 21 point win.

SUNY Poly was led by 14 points from Quayshaun Mitchell (Harlem, N.Y. / HS of Graphics Communication Arts). Mitchell grabbed eight rebounds, had four steals and an assist to go along with his team high scoring performance. Tyler Taverne (Westmoreland, N.Y. / Westmoreland) added 11 points to the mix on 5-6 shooting from the floor. Taverne also had five rebounds and two steals in the game.  

For the Mustangs, Ibrahima Toure led all scoreres with 23 points on 9 of 11 shooting. Toure  hit two three pointers in three attempts and had nine rebounds. The Mustangs starting five accounted for 59 of their 73 points.

The loss puts SUNY Poly at 8-10 (7-3 NEAC) for the season. The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday when they host Penn State Abington at 1:00 PM at SUNY Poly's Campus Center Gym. Live stats will be available for the game HERE.
