Bears Beat Wildcats 85-68, Rowe Makes All-Tournament Team

HAMILTON, NY - The SUNYIT men's basketball team lost its second game of the season in as many days as the Bears of Bridgewater State beat the Wildcats 85-68. With the loss, the Wildcats are 0-2 on the season while the Bears improve to a 2-1 record.

Freshman forward T'Andre Richardson (Utica, NY/Utica-Proctor) led the Wildcats with 20 points while junior guard Yhashin White (Brooklyn, NY/Canarsie) registered seven points and seven assists. Junior forward Derek Rowe (Mexico, NY/Mexico Academy) contributed to the offense with 15 points and 14 assists.  For his efforts, Rowe was selected to the Hamilton Tip-Off All-Tournament Team.

Leading the Bears was freshman guard Corey Ryser (Tewksbury, MA/Malden Catholic) who knocked in 28 points, while senior center Samuel Johnson (North Chelmsford, MA/Chelmsford) registered 22 points. Senior guard Nathan Miller (New Bedford, MA/New Bedford) rounded out the scoring for the Bears with 14 points.

SUNYIT returns to the road on Tuesday November 22nd when they travel to Buffalo, NY to take on Medaille College. A 6:00 pm tip-off is scheduled.
